Niacinamide, also known as nicotinamide, is the amide form of niacin and a water-soluble B-group vitamin. In animals, it is a component of coenzyme I and coenzyme II, participating in mitochondrial respiration and the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, and amino acids. As a feed additive, it can supplement niacin nutrition for pigs, poultry, ruminants, and aquatic animals, promote energy utilization and protein metabolism, and improve intestinal health. Deficiency symptoms are similar to those of niacin deficiency. The product has good safety and is an effective source of niacin in animal nutrition.
