Niacinamide, also known as nicotinamide, is the amide form of vitamin B3 and belongs to the water-soluble B-complex vitamins. As a dietary supplement, niacinamide is one of the important precursors of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺) and participates in key functions such as cellular metabolism and DNA repair. Compared with niacin, niacinamide does not cause the “flushing” reaction associated with vasodilation, making it a non-flushing form of vitamin B3 that is more suitable for daily dietary supplementation.
